A novel approach for beneficiation of REE from apatites and other mineral or waste sources by leaching with phosphoric acid followed by co-precipitation with lead phosphates has been developed and patented by LARG researchers. Ewa Stępień has been awarded the prestigious CEE Fellowship Program (https://cms.dbu.de/2600.html) funded by Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt. The scholarship awarded through the nationwide competition includes a six-month internship, mentorship and scientific cooperation at a German institution for the implementation of an own project related to environmental problems.
